Bristol pac
A few months ago I raised the subject of PAC representation in Bristol,
Due to the becoming a dad for the first time I had to put all other projects off for a while, my little girl is now here and doing really well so I have a bit more time to sort other things out.
I would like to hear from any south west pikers that would be interested in having a pac region in Bristol, if there is enough interest and I could get a bit of help I would like to try and put something together.

C'mon Martyn. You stand up to it more than most would do TBH.

It amuses me that a couple of members can't see that some things you say are tongue in cheek.

Re: Bristol pac
Bristol has got a good catchment for pikers so should do well. Lessons need to be learnt from what has gone wrong before if that is possible. The likes of Steve Moore, Paul Weston and Pete Austin will know??

Re: Bristol pac
Ask the local boys is my advice. No doubt Martyn will have a view on things as he was RO for a while. I can let you have contact details for quite a few of the chaps and suggest you do a bit of delving so that you know what has gone down previously. You may wish to speak to John 'Hoppy' Hopton another ex RO?

Re: Bristol pac
Will do that Luke. Please don't get me wrong here, I don't want to p**s on your fire, far from it. I want Bristol PAC to be successful. BUT there are reasons why it has failed in the past and I feel sure that if you are going to make a go of it you want to avoid those traps this time around plus get the old stagers on board again. Hope some of the BIG names will come down and get you started. Nev? ET? Derek Amies? Steve Rowley? Rodders (again)?

Re: Bristol pac
Luke I have sent you a PM mate and all ready to go ref RO for Bristol Region. Alan Dudhill (PAC Gen Sec) needs to deal with the formalities. Looks like there is interest in the South West LO job too. All sounds great.

When you are in office, job number one will be to email Brian Birdshall and give him your region's postcodes, its imperative you know exactly who is a member right now.

He'll need to see who is a paid-up member, send emails to those email addys already supplied and send letters to those that aren't. First point of success for the region would be contact and introduction, even arrange a fishmeet sharpish so that people who are not aware of this RO can meet him in person. A fishmeet costs nothing to the region. Also get your talks underway asap, this will set him up for next season financially and the advertising etc for the start of next season. He could do with a speaker who won't charge and a very cheap venue...good luck lol
Contacting the ex-RO may be beneficial but it's not job no 1 on the long list.
