Powan pattern lures

Postby glider » Fri Aug 11 2017 23:58

Hello guy's, I've been working on some lomond powan pattern gliders and few trollers, and it occurred to me I've not come across any other specific powan patterns. Obviously any roach /silver fish imitations are going to be close enough as makes no difference, just interested to know if anyone uses or come across specifically designed powan type patterns ? Thanks....glider

Anything in herring pattern is going to be the same as powan.
Cos that's what they are really.

Thanks replies, I've not seen the salmo helt pattern andrew, white fish/powan seem to be common in parts of Europe, strange how they are so isolated in u.k.

The new fox replicants come in a Zander pattern that looks just like as a Powan

Thanks reply craig, There's definitely plenty lure patterns out there that would imitate a powan nicely , just never seen or even heard of anyone using a specific powan pattern in u.k waters which have powan populations.I'm not suggesting it would catch more fish than any roach, herring or any other silvery fish pattern, was only when I was making a few for myself that it occurred I hadn't really heard of anyone else using powan patterns
