Sorry I can't make it this year. It's our 10th anniversary knees up. I thought about turning up late but decided it wasn't the wisest idea

Unfortunately as mentioned earlier, I wasn't able to make the ZAC convention but I did get a couple of texts from my buddy Nick Clare who said it was very good. He reckoned the speakers were excellent!

It was a good day Dave, Andy Black started things off ranging from Safe release of Zander from deep water, (get them in quickly) fish finders/sonars, best ones for the job, not cheap! :dizzy:
plus a good update on lures for the job making sensible alterations to their effectiveness giving more mobility than ever before.

Rob Shalcroft's fishing on the Severn from the early days up to the present, starting with the learning curve of hard work and observations etc., coming through and bearing fruition in the shape of many, many large fish for his efforts

Finally, Barry McConnels affection of the Releif Channel over the years, not only the fishing but the wild life and solitude there, starting with the highs, quality fish in the nineties, I was amazed to hear how small (miniscule) his pieces of fish section that he's used to good effect.

It was interesting to note and remind us even then that there were good numbers of people then taking them home to eat!, a long time before the E,E's arrived, which was a good point.

The venues lows, and the changes over the years, with beds of Zebra mussel now filtering the channel into crystal clear water a good deal of the time, and the large amount of Mittern crabs (big) :afraid: that are there now waiting to strip your baits.
Fair play to Barry as well that he used to hate repeat captures! all in all a good day out.

Now I no longer have Pike and Predators to edit I can start putting a ZAC magazine together. When I've done this I'll notify all members and call for subs.
