Pike Pool 17 (Andy Berwick)
Lots gets scribbled about Chew these days. Pike Pool felt the historical opening week when the "trials" opened a decade ago had not been recorded and missed by weekly paper, magazine or internet. Those of us there will never forget that magical 2nd day when the total amount of 20lb+ pike caught was simply mind-blowing !
Andy Berwick , one of the small band of dedicated West Country pikers who have fished Chew since the Ressa opened up, writes simply fantastically for us. This was the start of Andys Chew fishing and what a start he and his boat partner Dom made !
http://thepikepool.blogspot.com/search/ ... %20Berwick
As a footnote: The only other terrific account of that 2nd day can be read in Terry (Theo) Theobalds absolutly superb book " Well and truly hooked " ... well worth tracking down a copy.

Re: Pike Pool 17 (Andy Berwick)
Mr K and I were on there on that fateful 2nd day. We turned left from the pontoons simply because everyone else turned right and drew a blank all morning! By mid afternoon we'd trolled all the way to where Andy, Carl and Lumby etc were anchored and witnessed the last few fish being caught that day!
A day where I got it spectacularly wrong and Andy and co got it spectacularly right!
(Nice one chaps face)

Uneventful 3rd day.....!
Made me smile, funny how tackle has changed so much in a relative short time span, good read, and to think Chew is still fishing well(ish)

to be honest Phil, Llandegfedd isn't the easiest of words to spell even for some of the Welsh

Re: Pike Pool 17 (Andy Berwick)
Welsh people probably struggle to spell Llandegfedd because it contains three vowels.
