Just one thing Pete, very enjoyable but on another forum we're having a discussion on the best way to deal with the EE problem. How would you deal with it in the "correct manner"? Serious question, one poster suggested it might take a generation for them to fall into our ways.

The thread went on for days with a lot of people saying the achievment of catching
a large Chew Pike was as good as catching one elsewhere.
I am going to have a look back at the thread just to see for myself who it was...

Dave, I have just had a look back at one of the Chew threads,
And it seems you are correct there were more agreeing with that sentiment.
Chew has devalued the achievement...

Re: Pike Pool 33 ( The Pete Foster interview )
So you're saying that the size of a big Chew fish, though representing an actual weight achieved, is not actually an "achievement"?
So, who on here with a tally of Chew monsters is going to exclude them from their list of captures, or as their "PB"? .......... Nobody, that's who!!
(I've never fished there by the way)

The achievement of catching it..as in skill wise...
It has been likend to shooting fish in a barrel...

In all fairness Dave, i enjoy the days i get in deepest somerset, and i see the pro's and con's of this type of fishing, some people shout plastic pike, shooting fish in a barrel etc, on the flip side 1200 acre's is a big barrel , fishing for well fed pike against other competent ( ? ) anglers etc, could mean a bigger achievement to some ,
For me it is a dream maker to a hell of a lot of anglers and i will be greatful whenever i can get a date with her big girls
