I can remember as a kid seeing one or two old boys walking around with that reddish coloured baler twine threaded through their belt loops or wrapped around their jackets. My dad used to use it in his garden and I've most likely used it for securing snares.......always some lying around way back yonder.

Regards

Martin

Bailer twine seems to be much thinner these days, I cannot remember the last time I saw any of the thicker red twine, most of the stuff around my area is thin blue stuff now.
I still have a couple of full bales of the old hairy twine and the cast iron dispensing attachment that was fixed to the baler, a relic from my farm sale days :laughs: , they could be worth a bob or two now I reckon  .

The hay bales we get for the pony is held together with the red stuff top right, I can remember the really hairy stuff years ago, when helping to load hay of an elevator into the hay barn
