I'm on a bit of a mission to shoot my dinner with one. It's not something I spend much time doing but I know of lads who can take out a pheasant at will. I would love to be competent enough to bag the odd bit of game for eating purposes but if it is going to happen I'm going to have to get around to practicing with a catty. Obviously it would be irresponsible to be shooting at live targets without a reasonable level of competence.

To that one soul reading this
I know your tired fed up and close to braking
But theres strength within you even when you feel week
You've come too far to give up now
Stay strong and keep fighting

Re: Gamekeeper catapults
When I was a young'un we made all our own catty's from cut branches and inner tube rubber (it had to be red rubber from bicycle tubes and of course a leather shoe tongue for the stones (or marbles).
We lived on the beach so we had loads of ammo and me and my cousins were pretty proficient at killing small rodents and birds back then, we did also get into quite a few fights back in the day and they were lethal then.

I got into making a few 'naturals' a year or two back. This was my first home made catapult. I'm not certain of the timber but I think it may be Ash.

Re: Gamekeeper catapults
I used to be a crack shot as a kid with a catty and after coming across these videos on YouTube, I thought I got to have a go at making one. I knocked up a decent hardwood fork and sourced some theraband gold on ebay. After plinking up the garden, I soon brought back that child in me.
