Had this discusion with a mate when we escaped awe. I reckon locals have an imunity or higher tolerance. I know when theres a hatch of em on the canals they dont bother me at all. Open all windows fully and drive at speed. Should clear em out

Re: BIG ask?
Was up at Awe last week but cut the trip short by a day due to the heavy rain forecast for friday and the midges, they were really bad and they don't normally bother me at all, my mate was eaten alive and is now covered in bites.
The locals said they the midges had arrived earlier than normal and that they were particularly bad this year, we had to kip in the van with all the windows tight shut but getting out onto the boat in the morning and coming in at night was a nightmare.
First time I've been up in the summer, might stick to times when they are not about in future.
Will.

BUMP! Any of you my Scottish cousins heading down then and able to help a friendly Sassenach?
You'd need a van more than likely and Neilson lives Alloa way.
(I'll bung you £51 face)

Dave Horton wrote:Anyone ?I know it's a BIG ask but is anyone coming from Scotland to this years PAC Convention that might be able to meet up before hand and collect a rather large item from Neilson Baxter near Alloa and drop it to me at the Convention site please? The tubes obviously deflate but it's reputed to then fit in the boot of a car (I'd say small van required myself)?
Like I said I acknowledge it's a tall order but I'll bung you £50 to help offset your fuel costs and buy you a pint if any of you can help please?
(Thanks in anticipation face)
