Some more snow from a few years back when we last had a good covering. I do some Trout fishing here in the Spring, but this day ran and got my camera.

Re: Whats the oldest lure in your bag?

Not in the bag but in the tackle room, the wife picked up a dozen of these at a boot sale for fifty pence. These are two I could find, the others are in the room some place.

A must have for Chew surely?

Re: Royalty Days

As a boy reading the print off Mr Crabtree and his big Chub the Royalty became the cathedral of my angling world. I was 60 when I first fished it and to be honest it was very disappointing simply because it was full of anglers like me, all there to drop a line in the waters of the Holy Grail but no...

Re: do perch spook perch

When perch fishing, how many use a keep net to avoid them returning to the shoal and telling their mates not to eat that fecking lure ? Cheers Mike It depends on the shoal size, very occasionally I fish a canal when the rivers are in a poor state. Pulling out small Perch and popping them straight b...

Looks an interesting one. I've ordered and paid for a copy. LEP are only printing 250 copies . ( Until it sells out of course ... then should imagine they'll print some more !! ) The stuff on the legendary Bill and Sonny Warren should be a fascinating read though. ( the Terry Lampard's of the day )...

Re: Vintage lure collection

Some beauts there Mark. I'm amazed how 'unfashionable' crankbaits seem to be. I use them more than any other lure type, but all I see others chucking these days is swimbaits or jerkbaits! Missing out IMO. I've still got a few of the old classics bought from TG - and they still catch. Been making qu...

Re: do I swap from spinning set up to baitcaster setup?

Heavy lures and thick lines - multipliers. Light lures and thin lines - fixed spools. However... Fixed spools are fine for use with lures that can be cranked straight in - spinners, swimbaits. I find that lures which need to be worked from the rod - jerkbaits, twitching minnows - are better fished ...

I tried this for three months from June a couple of years back, on my crank baits for Perch that I target most of the time. It was abysmal, so I went back to treble hooks, but kept the front treble off. Not many double figure Pike on the small rivers I fish, but hoardes of Jack's to around 9lb.With ...
