Hello from Walton-on Thames

Post by LureLubber »

Hello all,

Newbie Pike lure fisherman here (long time Bass lure fisherman),

I have recently moved to Byfleet in Surrey (last Autumn) and have already enjoyed some good sport at the few local spots I know. I am keen to venture further along the Thames in search of good Lure fishing spots, or maybe join a local club if I find one. If any members are local and can offer any advice regards marks/clubs or would just like some company on the next lure session then feel free to P.M me.

Last season was my first for Pike fishing, my background is in Bass fishing (Lures) so the transition has been an interesting one! I had always thought that the Pike season was Autumn/winter and I'd be back to Bass fishing through summer, but now I'm hooked on Pike I'm hoping to scour the forum and find some UK venues where summer lure fishing can be done at minimal risk to the pike , that may have to be my second post....

Tight lines!

Welcome to the pit mate .
IT has Lots of banter as well as advice.
The one thing that doesn't get mentioned is a venues name .
But I'm sure someone on the pit from your area may be able to help you out as members get to know you.
You could also join your local PAC branch .
Enjoy
Regards
Tom :handshake:

Hi Tom,

Thanks for the welcome and advice regards the PAC. I found that my local branch is the Walton-on Thames PAC, however looks like the link to join up or even email the guys is currently not working. I will give it another go later in the week in case the site is down.

Thanks again

Drew,

My mate runs the Walton region of the PAC, sent him a text alerting him about this thread as the doddery old sod will no doubt miss it.

Hi Mate. I'm the RO for Region 15, WoT. We don't do anything between May and September. If you PM me your email address I'll put you on my email list to keep you informed of our meetings and such.

Drew, the dead 'join' link is for the National PAC and their site has been dead for ages. I must remove the link until it's fixed. The email link to Kev Daley should work.

Cheers,
Neil
