Hello from the Tamworth area

Post by vysie »

Good morning all,
Been having a mooch around reading up and thought i should register. I have been a fisherman for around 35 years from a small boy down the local canal as you do as kids. Or as we did back then before xboxs etc,
Having done the silver fishing then as most carp fishing i fell out of love after chasing the lumps and always needing to buy a new gadget in the hope to catch the next big fish.
After a break away from the fishing i decided to go down the fly fishing route, i have enjoyed the last 6 years fly fishing and had some great days out on rivers and stills.
We recently moved close to a local river and i started having a wonder with an ultralight lure rod bashing about for perch and chubb. I have to say I'm currently enjoying the evening walks and catching a few fish here and there.
I am now looking forward to winter pike fishing as iv seen a few about and iv only ever caught them to under 10lb mostly by mistake or chance.
Hoping to use your forums wealth of knowledge to further my lure fishing and maybe able to help where i can with my previous experiences as a fisherman.

Your previous experience will stand you in good stead for piking as many skills are transferable.

Tamworth eh, some nice piggies with that name.
