New Scottish Rep Appointed

Post by Mark Green PAC »

I'm very pleased to announce that Scott Davidson has been appointed Representative Officer (Scotland)

As
with Ireland, Scotland has it's own unique problems and issues to
contend with. Having different laws & byelaws makes it very
difficult for a central committee, based in England, to keep a finger on
the pulse. There are also a number of different clubs &
associations who share a common goal, working very hard to address pike
conservation issues throughout Scotland. Whether members of the PAC or
not, it makes perfect sense to bring all Scottish piker together to
fight a common cause. This can only be a good thing for our sport and
old esox.

For these reasons we think it is vital that we have a
guy in place to bring all these organisations together, collate
information re ongoing issues and report directly to the committee. This
allows us to have a thorough understanding of any issues, which puts us
in a much better position to address them. Scott will be working
closely with LOs, ROs, PAAS & LAIA Officials, relevant local
authorities, government agencies, fisheries and angling clubs.

For
those who don't already know Scott, he is one of our most respected
officials, a true PAC Stalwart and long-serving RO & LO. He has the
knowledge, experience and passion needed for this role. Couple this with
his unrivalled enthusiasm and commitment and you have the perfect guy
to represent Scottish pikers. I'm certain that his appointment will
prove a great asset to the club and particularly our members in
Scotland, who deserve utmost respect and recognition for their
contribution to pike angling & conservation.

There are so
many guys doing so many great things in Scotland that we need to shout
this from the roof-tops and give them all the support & recognition
they deserve. For this reason, we also intend dedicating a section of
Pikelines to our Scottish lads. This will give Scott an opportunity to
increase awareness of the issues specific to Scotland and hand out all
the necessary 'pats on the back'.
