I've got a couple of HTO rods in that price range and I think they're brilliant value. I don't think you can go wrong with them Taffy!

Del isn't a lure angler so he wouldn't know Taff. It's like asking you if you knew who Barrie Rickards or BB was.πŸ‘πŸ»

You seem to buy a lot of cheap lure rods, any reason why you don't buy something better, less rods better quality?

Sodding hell, a rod that is 240m long, sounds more like a baiting pole for distant margins!!!!!

Well hto really but I am up for suggestions of others

I enjoy collecting fishing tackle and I am not a good enough fisherman to justify spending 300 quid on a rod

Savage Gear , Fox , Daiwa , Abu all produce fair quality rods but I bought a daiwa prorex a few years back and my nephew snapped it

It was 100 quid which isnt loadsa money but since then I have gone for novice price rods and for the price most of them have been great for what I need ......I am a rough angler , a rough caster and just get out to have a crack

I think spending less than 50 sheets on a rod and 40 on a reel is fine for what I want but I accept I ain't getting very good quality at that price

The HTO hooligan is on the post but any suggestions on the other models like nebula or rockfish .....although I have an idea ........or any other lure rods that might be laughed at by the toffs but still do a good job then fire away fellow metalhead

You can find reasonable budget rods. But I won't economise on reels. Our bait reels are cranking heavy leads and baits back, the lure reels are constantly working. And hopefully they even have to deal with an occasional pike...

I reckon if the budget was Β£90 for rod & reel (as above), you might be better off spending Β£60 on the reel and Β£30 on the rod...

Yeah, I'm sure it is - and I hope so, cos I've just bought one!

But generally I reckon spend more on a reel than than a rod, if you're at the bargain end of the price range
