Abu Hi-Lo 200mm 110g
They'd somehow escaped my notice, but there is now a jumbo-sized Hi-Lo!
I'm old enough to remember when the 40g one seemed enormous, but the 'new' (to me) size is almost three times that!
Has anyone tried one?

Pretty sure they have been around for a long time (20 years approx) I remember my old pal appearing with one a horrible colour pink I think on a ferox trip it was instantly christened Tams Dildo.

3 hooks is never a great idea though.

I generally dispense with the tail treble on three hooked plugs, usually replacing it with a little Colorado blade as a 'flasher' (no swivel, just on a split ring).
I've been doing that long before 'squirelly' lures became a thing, but I noted that it is of course the tail hook that is sacrificed on those too, so must be considered the least important hook on larger lures?

I like a muppet on the tail this has to be seen to see just how good it looks in the water so the tail hook remains for me.
Got rid of the galvanised hooks too.

They make a good trolling lure, I removed the middle hooks on mine and replaced the others with Berkleys. Good lures, they catch fish.

Mine arrived today - They're a BIG bait!
The 'new' 40g shown for size comparison (they used to be 3 hooks too, originally, but are now only 2 in the latest version).

I have a few too John, but the fish catcher is missing. I can't remember if I lost it or gave it to someone inadvertently?
It was the bronze coloured one, eel pout I think? It easily outfished the others around here and seems to be a rarity in the shops that have them.

I see the old style hook hangers have gone. I might have to add some more Hi-Los to my collection.

Introduced in 2018 in 10 colours. Don't know if they are now discontinued, since they introduced the awful Beast Hi-Lo.
ABU introduced the new range 0f 200mm in 2023, seemingly only for Japan market.
