Drennan zombie vs Rapala X rap
Any difference apart from price in the Drennan Zombie / jointed Zagtail and the Rapala X raps . ?
They both look identical except for the colours available.
The Gold/ Black 13cm Zagtail looks pretty good.

One's a Rapala, the other a copy. I'm sure the pike can't tell the difference. Not having handled a Drennan lure of any description, I'll make a guess that the Rapala has better hardware and build quality. From what I can see, the colour choice with the Drennan is pretty dire, as opposed to the Rapala (20+ colours).
I've caught a lot of fish on jointed x-raps to low 20's. Great for trolling shallower water and have fairly decent rattles. Hot Steel colour has done well for me.

Cheers Mark.
I have a jointed x rap in bunker minnow . It certainly caught me . No fish yet but to be fair it's not had a lot of troll time.
I thought I'd ask because as I said I liked the look of the Gold/ Black colour of the Drennan i think it could do a job on a loch i fish. But like yourself have no experience of them.

I noticed the colour range has grown a little since I last bought any... caught quite a few zander on them as well, especially on the clown pattern.

That Live Roach is a cracker of a colour.
The Halloween one is interesting too.

The rapala s are good with a wide range of colours- I rate some of thr natural patterns
Thr zombie is OK- limited to 4 colours and I have had success - my only comment is they are a lot more garish with lots of reflective tape in all models.
I use them in coloured water or potentially snagging areas.

It was that garish finish that actually made me notice them.
Sometimes that works on the lochs I fish . I've added glitter to some of my lures in the past and they actually started to catch more.

Same with the zagtail - it's OK and defo cheaper than the joined Rapala x - actually prefer the jointed x over the unjointed
I agree with fergie sometimes you need to add a bit of ing to make a lure better - somewhere I have a big s that got thr glitter treatment and did really well on one water. Oddly also gone the other way and sprayed a lure jet black apart form it's existing belly colour of white - also became better. I

Xrap jointed in firetiger old colours is my go-to in shallower water. Have it in 5 colours but the firetiger always gets clipped on first, and has the most battle scars
