Ferox

Post by fergie68 »

I got out yesterday it was OK when we first went out but that NE wind gradually grew throughout the day till we had to run and hide beside the islands . We done pretty well though with 5 ferox and 3 wee skinny seatrout.
I was pretty happy with mine as it took a new lure I was trying . Mickys run of good luck has held for another trip and getting a double hook up is always a buzz. It's amazing having two ferox in the net at the same time it doesn't happen very often. 😆
I think the sudden mild weather has brought them on.

I think it's maybe a roach. If you zoom in on it you will see that last wee bit of skin is really silvery.

I was out yesterday absolutely stunning weather after weeks of wind and rain with the odd nice day.
I was getting hit with pike again right from the off ( story of my season) ended up with 5 and had a good take on a dace deadbait that was almost definitely a trout as the bait was mangled but not slashed up .
George on the other hand had ONE take all day and had this . 9lb 14oz . Jammy b*****d :worthy: :laughs:

It was quiet out there all day apart from the odd water skier . It was jet ski hell on the way in though closer we got to the slip.

Aye Al that would have been a interesting one to have taken some scales . It could be a older fish. I don't know if I took any pics but it had a large well healed wound on its side .
I will see if I have any other pictures of it.
