The joys of Piking Tony luckily outshadow the trials that we have to overcome sometimes in our quests. I'm glad in a way I don't suffer as many as you do Image Image Image Image

A good light hearted read that Image

Remember the car bonnet blowing up on my way back from anglesey sea fishing, got out my dads new shimano reel on loan to me for the day, tied the pringle shaped bonnet down with the line, drove of with a cracked windscreen and got home only to realise i had left the reel at the side of the road.Dad was made up and wont lend me nowt any more Image

Feck me do i hate boats. Reading your article has made me want to go out and beat feck out of mine for all the s**t i,ve been through with it. Winch handle breaks, done that, boat falls of trailer onto slipway, done that. Propellor comes off electric engine without me knowing and i,m wondering why the feck the boats going so slow, done that. Shear pin breaks, done that. Recoil starter spring breaks, done that. Recoil starter rope snaps, done that. Engine dies after an hour and won,t restart, done that. Blown into reeds, line wraps around propellor, done that. Wheel comes off trailer, done that ( twice). Dropped lifejacket in lake and it explodes into life nearly giving me feckin heart attack and costing money for new canister, done that( twice) lost in fog on big lough, done that. Car nearly gone backwards into lough down slipway cos the boat was to heavy for the car to pull, done that. Removable cuddy blew off on journey and i didn,t notice for about five miles, done that. Lost a good anchor when the locking nut came undone on the chain, done that. Theres probably more but theres been that many disasters that i,ve forgotten half of them. Me and boats just dont get on. I make Uncle Albert out of Fools and Horses look lucky when it comes to it and he even knackered a gravy boat.
