Rudd and feeder rigs.

Post by fishder »

Hi just started fishing a very small lake that runs to about 15 feet in depth its sorounded by trees and it seems to have a carpet off dead leaves on the bottom . Question what would be a good feeder rig to target theese rudd that run to about 2lb i have had a couple on the method but its not a favourite off mine. any info appreciated.

Helicopter rig. Maggot feeder. Pop-up the maggots with a sliver of rig foam.

Forget the feeder.

Use a Cralusso 5gm Rocket Pellet Waggler (calibrated tip).
Remove internal weight, set the tip at 0.8gm, 2 x 6s at 40" and an 8 at 15" from a #10 on 6lb at half depth.
A catty, a tin of corn and your off, especially the last hour before dark.

Best Rudd bashing system ever!

Forget the Cralusso 5gm Pellet waggler (calibrated tip) and fish a big lump of flake on a size 4 pretending you are fishing for carp, loads of rudd to over three on this method lol

Oh Alan you've really got to move with the times

Danny the 6 is for straightlining them in, the rod is just for getting it out (shhh).

Na Danny, filling the bucket more like

Trouble is Ive had a couple of big 3s doing it, no swinging with them, the carp are even worse, especially when you don't have a net.

Zig rigged or bottom fished popped up mini boilies on a scaled down hair rig. Esterblend or any of the sweeter flavours are my preference.

In daylight hours a pre-weighted pellet waggler as a controller four feet from a size 8 hook with floating bread flake for bait has outscored any other method for bigger rudd for me.
