Chest Waders Sea Fishing
I am a bib and brace man for most of my sea fishing but when it gets mucky I stick on a bib and brace
I have to send my old ocean rubbers to the council tip after several years service
Vass seem to be the latest fashion item , was thinking of the basic 650 studded ?
Anyone used these or any other suggestions ?

I had Snowbee classic neoprene which were great and even when then start letting in a bit of water I was never cold. They ended up riddled but I just got a billy basic pair of Bison rubber chesties and they’re fine with thermals worn underneath. Cheap a cheerful so no issues if I slip a bust a hole in them !

The thicker chesties are no good for me at all as they make me overheat
These old ocean ones were good but they don't make them anymore
Vass do a lightweight wader , the 400 but I think they are more for the summertime carp boys
I bought some of those fortex bib and brace ones after a suggestion on here and they are good , wish they did something similar with boots
There is supposed to be an ex dunlop factory in Liverpool that makes sea waders

I have a pair of Vass chesties and am happy with them. As far as I am aware they are the old Ocean waders. Just a name change for the company making them.

Re: Chest Waders Sea Fishing
Vass boot foot, mine are those with the thinner Vasstek 400E material.
Easy to walk and wade in, comfortable and well designed, big wide braces, a good belt and 10x6" inside pocket, I added my own studs for rock hopping (Supatracks) and a footbed for a snugger fit.
Ideal for a single tide as I will be wearing mine for later today.
I also have stocking foots but prefer the Vass as they wash down easier and there is no drying of the boots.
Angling Direct gave me the best deal.

The 400s are I think the standard lightweight vass
Just checked on the site and they say not for sea angling but I would take that with a pinch of salt as the winters are so mild
What do you mean by a footbed ?
I would go for studded soles if they did them

I rang Vass and for advice and they never mentioned the 400E not being suitable for sea fishing.
A footbed is a slip-in sole that helps cushion your foot from standing and walking on uneven ground.
Adding your own studs allows you to select the best stud for the surface you will be walking on and Supatracks make studs in different lengths and designs, adding your own allows you to select the pattern and number of studs. Vass uses 18studs per sole, I only use 8. https://supatracks.com/boot-studs/

I fitted my own studs.
I recommend you visit a specialist walking shop where they will check your feet and advise you.

What have you been doing to make them leak?
My 400Es are perfect after a full summer, autumn and early winter up to my goolies, tramping, kneeling, sitting and whatever on rocks and shell covered beaches. Even stood on the material with the studded sole a couple of times with no damage.
How do you keep yours when not in use? I hang mine from the garage roof boot up, no folds or creases.
Have you contacted Vass, yours may be repairable?

I've got the vass team waders, found them pretty good. I'm roaming flooded bank's in them and found them tough. I like the reinforced knees and d rings on the braces.they are a bit heavy but I spend all day in them walking no problem.

He is sponsored by a lot of the tackle companies who's gear he praises, some gear is damn good eg. wading boots and the SG8 rod.
Vass are time tested commercially and used by many many sea anglers, I live next to the sea and apart from the odd fluff chucker everyone who wades wears Vass.
What I want to see is what waders the OP eventually buys and a pic of the unboxing. Otherwise all the above has been a waste of ALL our time, inc. the OP.

Re: Chest Waders Sea Fishing
I decided to stick with my waist waders and bib and brace
I have some vass r boots with studs and I can't justify getting chest waders again just for the occasional step into water
