Forceps

At last I found a supplier of quality forceps. 12 inch in length
with curved grip
comfortable to use, bevelling to finger holes.
Strong and don't flex.
On top of that the jaws line up.
I have purchased 3 x 12inch and they have all been the same quality
£3.99 inc postage

I use these, no problems with them so far. The red one's are so pikey :laughs:

They look decent, are they genuine SS or do they corrode?

The perfect forceps for me are the ones made by fox, I get my big knuckles through the rings, they lock if needed, good for delicate unhooking but they rust and seize. Plus I have a tendency to leave them on the bank.

I bought two pair of the straight nose a few years ago just in case one broke, one pair are still unopened in the original packaging  It says SS on the packaging, I've just checked my used pair, not a mark on them.

I thought the fox ones were s***e, weak monkey metal that snapped easily, I made the mistake of buying a second pair after the first ones snapped thinking it was just an unlucky purchase of a bad pair, the second pair snapped too. Top dollar, bottom quality, maximum profit.

I always use log nosed pliers. Are there circumstances where people find forceps preferable?

I’ve had them for years, the original ones were black steel but the later ones are marketed as stainless steel.
There’s various grades of stainless steel but these to me are far from it.

I don’t like some of the weaker flimsy forceps or looking bag nose pliers for dead baiting.
