They shoal up en mass in the winter.

Caught most of my 1st pike on them including three twenties from the Valley.
Then they installed the spill weirs and silted up the river. Their numbers soon declined.
I’m getting soft wouldn’t use one now

That reminds me of when we were kids we'd see loads of Gudgeon and Minnows in cattle drinks and along the shallows of the river.

That’s some haul of tench! I’ve never had catches of tench like that but I’ve had some good bream hauls, Makes u cringe looking back now them all flapping about on a sheet but it was the done thing, still impressive looking at all them tench

Only an hour chucking lures but nice to be back by the water with dragonflies sipping around. By the time I got home it was p*****g down again!

I might have another go before winter arrives.

This was around 4yrs ago, last minute phone offering cos someone couldnt make it.
1st drop down and it won me the boat sweep, happy days..
Didnt weigh it but the skipper reckond on 38/40lb

done loads of conger fishing mainly at night off rock marks , me and a mate fished all the marks on anglesey
had some good hauls too ,no time for sleeping when conger fishing ........hook and hold on , hanging like a mad man off some precarious ledge in the dark .
