I wasn't expecting to see this by the footpath when I went to the shops!
I think it had just caught a young pigeon.

Love the way they stand there wings out.
I imagine them looking at you saying “WHAT!”
Had one do the same in our bird bath whilst innocently holding a starlings head under the water

Cracking sighting that. I had a quick glimpse of one whilst driving to work last year taking a pigeon but being a glimpse I can't confirm it.
