Any of you fellas seen one this spring or is it too early? Normally arrive in Northern Ireland a bit later on.

I'm just back in from a short walk and was going to post that I saw my first swallow of the year.

It was on a telephone wire, all alone, and it looked knackered! :laughs:

First of the year was last Tuesday feeding on the thousands of duns coming off the Avon.
Even better was a pair of storks that flew over, left me wondering if they will stay and breed somewhere?

Bloody long way from the Sahara Dave :laughs: .
I have read that some swallows are staying in UK all year round now because the winters have gotten warmer.

I don't see Swallows in my part of town but we do have Swifts. I think it'll be a few weeks before they arrive.
Unfortunately being hard of hearing I can't hear them making that high pitched sound they seem to make as they race with each other flying around the houses.

Cormorants, grebes, house sparrows, swallows. Are there any birds you don't hate for one thing or another? :laughs:

I like the Swallows, just they shi* on everything.
I also love the Robins, but when Iโ€™m mowing the lawns they shi* on the handle as soon as they get a chance.

We don't get them in my part of town but we do get Swifts. Love watching them race around unfortunately due to poor hearing I can no longer hear them screeching as they fly by.

Saw our first swallows today (Northumberland). There seems to be a big influx of chiffchaffs around our area this spring for some reason. Loads of them singing last time we were out a week or so ago. Hedgehogs have started visiting the garden again this last week aswell
