Grey headed woodpecker

Just spotted one in my back garden on the fat balls, never even knew they existed until I looked it up in the RSPB book...

Made my day :grin:

Have you checked their distribution range?

More likely a juvenile green woodpecker IMO

Have you checked their distribution range?

More likely a juvenile green woodpecker IMO
You could be right Dave, seen loads if male greens but never a juvenile. (I i dont think).
That could have been the 1st..
Either way irs good to get a woodpecker In your back gadden :thumbs:

Aye. Not seen any woodpeckers here lately but heard them drumming in spring. Can;t recall any greens locally either.
