Post by Brian Springthorpe »

Just got a new toy Air Arms S510 ultimate sorter, haven't had a air rifle for nearly 15 years now and boy have they improved in that time

Very nice, used to love a bit of rabbit shooting with my air arms. Wasn't as nice as that one though! Is that the carbine?

Son in law has the 510 ultimate, I've got the S400f classic with a rowan engineering mag conversion, which is getting chopped in for a 510 superlite classic. I prefer the traditional stock.

Not sure if that's a response to me or the OP.

Most (quality) guns sold for the UK market are set to around 11+ ft/lb. If you buy second hand, get it chrono'ed at your local gun shop. It's a possibility for someone to tune them up to FAC then sell them on without informing the buyer and it's your responsibility to make sure they're legal.

How do you rate the HW100KT, seriously been thinking about buying one, any issues?

Well the last rifle I can compare it to is a theoben rapid 7 I had about 18 years ago, I've had it since April and never had a problem with it, although there were supposed to be problems with some of the barrels on some of the earlier models .

Had a look at them today, felt very nice, had both 22 and 177 and really keen on a 177 but the wood was really plain on the 177 but well figured on the 22, will ring them to see if possible to swap the stocks for a sale, unlikely i guess

Mines .177 and the stock was really light and plane so I got some varnish stripper on the stock then sanded it down till it was bare, then used napier London gun stock oil on it, then coated it with wax and it's totally changed it a lot better.
