Great little film , when that hawk swoops straight down on that bolting bunny , that’s quick!

Why is the hawk fed red meat? Can you feed a hawk white rabbit meat instead?

I,m a ferreter , and I loved the end of the film , with the ferret scratching the box , a sound I grew up with

Will the hawk be bred this summer?

Cheers for posting crack

Yeah while I was editing it the last chase only takes 1.9 seconds from the rabbit surfacing to her catching it!

Well that day Mik forgot to bring the meat which is normally rabbit haha so we went and got steak instead.
I don't think he is breeding from her, he could charge a premium though.
Glad you liked it!

That was cool

I'm pondering though. if the ferret came out of the rabbit hole first, would it be game over for the ferret like it was for the rabbit. It really didnt want to give them back did it :laughs:

He always makes sure the bird sees the ferret when it goes to work and they pop up all the time. I haven't seen it but yeah ferrets get stung very rarely. My mate also has a good story about a woman nearby in a cemetery with a furry coat hood haha

Feckin awesome mate. Good soundtrack and some stunning scenery.
Noticed the barbed wire fence - does the bird ever collide with it?

Have not seen her have any accidents yet. With eyesight estimated by scientists to be up to 8 times better than ours, they don't miss much. Flying full speed through dense trees while tracking a rabbit, it boggles the mind! Evolutionary arms race.

Its great to have mates like Mik! If you're ever up Edinburgh way, a days hunting with pick up and drop off is stupidly cheap! My older brother has a saying..

Cracking video, i believe these birds often hunt together in the wild. As already mentioned the ferret scratching from within its box brought back memories.

They are feisty little critters, that’s for sure. Come to think of it, I better give Mick a call and head out for another hunt! As soon as winter is over, so is the hunting.
If he takes the bird out in the lead up to spring, it gets a little bit, shall we say “clucky!”
Let it out during the breeding season and it may disappear, never to be seen again!
